简介

Charmaine Sheh Sze Man is a Hong Kong actress born on 28 May 1975. Her ancestral roots trace back to Guantang Village in Guangdong province, and her grandfather founded a charity school before the family emigrated to Hong Kong in 1945. Sheh grew up with her mother after her father passed away when she was five, studied at Hei Yan School, and later went to Switzerland to study hotel management. After graduation, she returned to Hong Kong and competed in the 1997 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, winning third place before signing with TVB. She began her acting career in 1999 when producer Lee Tim-sing cast her as the female lead in the wuxia drama Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain, adapted from a Jin Yong novel. She later starred in numerous hit dramas including The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Return of the Cuckoo, and War and Beauty. Sheh is one of TVB's most decorated actresses, having won the Best Actress award at the TVB Anniversary Awards four times—a record—and holds the most awards overall with 17. She is hailed as the "Queen of Hong Kong Drama" and the last "Top Female Star" of TVB's golden era. Beyond acting, she is a successful property investor and in 2025 was appointed a "Po Leung Kuk Love Ambassador."
