She attended Lutheran Leung Kui Liu Primary School and SKH Lam Kau Mou Secondary School before graduating from City University of Hong Kong. In 2022, she joined the Hong Kong girl group MORII GIRLS under the stage name Stella and participated in a swimsuit photobook shoot with other group members including artiste Au Ming-miu. In 2024, she entered the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2024 under the name Ellyn and was dubbed "the CityU Maggie Cheung" by the media. She won the pageant on 15 September 2024 by a landslide and subsequently joined TVB as an artiste. During the competition, she revealed a birthmark on her left chest while wearing a bikini, and netizens noted that her facial features resembled TVB artiste Shen Ho-yan more than Maggie Cheung. In March 2026, she joined TVB's reality singing competition "The Diva Group" (魔音女團) and was selected as one of 16 trainees to undergo training in singing, dancing, and rapping. In April 2026, she attended the press conference for the programme with the other trainees to showcase their training results, and in early May participated in a promotional event at Tung Kung City in white military-style outfits. After training and evaluation, she was selected to form a girl group alongside five other members. On 6 June 2026, the group made their official debut on the charity programme "All Together for Charity 2026" performing their first group song "Turn My Magic On" and announced the group name "MYNT", with Song Wan-ying voted as team leader.
