简介

Wu Jiemei is a Hong Kong singer born in 1967. She worked as a kindergarten teacher between 1984 and 1985. In the mid-1980s, many bands emerged in Hong Kong performing urban folk songs that reflected the social conditions of the time. Between 1986 and 1989, Wu Jiemei joined the Christian-background band "Equator" along with four other members. Despite the band's Christian background, their songs did not carry strong religious overtones. The band became best known for the song "無言者" (The One Who Does Not Speak), performed by Wu Jiemei. After the band disbanded, she pursued a solo career. She performed the song "我愛大樹熊" on television and later became a TV host for programs such as "Hong Kong Morning" and "大江南北" in 1990. She subsequently moved to the United States and gradually faded from the music scene. Her husband is Liu Xiangrong, who was also a member of the Equator band.
