Kolor
简介
KOLOR is a Hong Kong male band, formed in 2005. The current lineup consists of lead vocalist Sammy So (Su Haocai), guitarist Robin Lo (Luo Haobin), bassist Singz (Xie Rixing), and drummer Michael Chu (Zhu Weichu). The band was formed by former members of the bands Ling Ki, Tat Flip, and Nothing None. They initially played mostly rock and nu-metal. The band draws its musical philosophy from the idea that understanding music is like a painter using different colors to express thoughts and feelings, so their music is built from diverse musical elements in pursuit of innovation and change. Their former manager was former Beyond bassist Wong Ka Keung, but they ended their professional relationship due to disagreements, and later announced their independence following their first concert "INDEPENDENCE LIVE". In July 2007, they released their debut album "Color" and won the Bronze Award for "Best New Group" at the 2007 Ultimate Song Chart Awards. In 2009, their second album "Surrealism" was released, featuring hit songs such as "Besieged City" and "Unable to Help", and their style matured while they gained more major performance opportunities. After years of effort and accumulated performance experience, KOLOR released their third album "Independence" and held their first independent concert, receiving very positive responses. Starting from February 14, 2010, KOLOR released the song "Seeking Cause and Effect" on their official website, and thereafter regularly released a new single online on the 14th of every month, a practice known as KOLOR's "Law of 14", which ended in July 2013. In December 2010, KOLOR performed at the SIMPLE LIFE festival in Taiwan and collaborated with hip-hop group 24 HERBS for the "24K Concert" at Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, while releasing their fourth album "As Simple As". In March 2011, KOLOR's song "The Old Man Who Moved Mountains" topped the RTHK Chinese Pop Chart, and their song "Philadelphia Experiment" made history as the first KOLOR song to reach number one on TVB's Jade Solid Gold chart, and was later adapted as the theme song for the TV program "Kung Fu Star".
