简介

Albert Au Shui Keung was born in 1955 in Hong Kong and grew up on Portland Street in Mong Kok. He was the fifth of eight siblings, including singer Ou Gui Fen (his sister) and Ou Rui Ming (his brother). He attended several schools including Hong Kong San Yu Academy and Chi Chi College. He developed an interest in music during secondary school, joining amateur folk music circles and learning the acoustic guitar. He participated in school competitions, amateur folk concerts, and sang English and nostalgic songs in restaurants. After graduating from secondary school, he planned to study dentistry in the Philippines but chose music instead. He studied communications at Hong Kong Baptist College (now Hong Kong Baptist University) and worked as a part-time professional singer at a Mong Kok restaurant for three years while teaching guitar to earn a living. In 1977, he joined PolyGram Records after meeting producers while working as a resident singer, and was invited to host TV and radio programs while also acting in TV dramas and films. In 1979, he released the album "陌上歸人" (The Return of the Wayfarer), which sold over 200,000 copies, topping that year's record sales. In 1988, he founded "Music Farm," a registered charitable organization in Hong Kong dedicated to promoting environmental awareness, with over two million Hong Kong participants. He currently hosts radio programs on RTHK, including "2000靚歌再重聚" (since 1999) and "Albert Au‧區瑞強," performing with major artists and presenting classic Chinese and English songs. He also hosts TV programs like "區瑞強擁抱大自然" and "香港十大勝景," combining music with nature. He has held annual solo concerts since around 1999, celebrating his 30th and 40th career anniversaries in 2007 and 2017. He is one of Hong Kong's longest-serving and most prominent Chinese-language program hosts, having released over 100 records in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
