Xu Biaoxin is a Yue opera and Xiqu opera actor born in February 1971 in Jiangsu Province. He specializes in the young male (xiaosheng) roles in Yue opera. He joined the Shanghai Yue Opera Theatre in 2000. In Yue opera performance, he studied under the master Lu Jinhua. He is known for his performances in several classic Xiqu opera works including "Lotus Lantern," "The Mute Woman's Lawsuit," "Three Glimpses of the Imperial Sister," and "Half a Pair of Scissors." He has also performed notable Yue opera works such as "Early February," "The Pearl Tower," "Red Kapok," "The Prodigal Son," and "Reviewing the Husband and Su Fu."
