Neuuuuu

Biography

Neuuuuu (real name Zeng Pengyu) was a Chinese online cover singer from Luzhou, Sichuan, born on November 14, 1995. He had a turbulent childhood after his parents divorced when he was two years old, with his father moving to Shenzhen while his mother remarried and later moved to Hainan for business, leaving him in the care of his grandmother. He graduated from Jiangnan Vocational School in Luzhou in 2012 and moved to Hainan to work with his mother, but quit his job in 2014. Neuuuuu was a fan of Japanese anime and anime songs, and his most famous cover was "Unravel" from Tokyo Ghoul. He began his artistic career in June 2014 on bilibili with six cover videos, and won third place in an anime singing competition in Haikou in October 2014. Unfortunately, Neuuuuu suffered from emotional problems and a breakup with his girlfriend, which led him to livestream his suicide on Weibo on November 30, 2014 amid online harassment, posting 38 tweets before his death, the last of which garnered thousands of comments and retweets.
