Miura Kenichi is a Japanese actor born on August 31, 1963, in Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan. He spent his early childhood in Washington with his father before returning to Japan in 1969 for schooling. During high school, he became interested in the life of Zhou Enlai, which marked his first connection with China. After graduating high school, he enrolled in the Department of Political Economics at Meiji University, and later worked in market research, trade, and marketing. At age 30, he entered Aoyama Gakuin University to study international politics and became a disciple of Professor Tenji Sato, beginning his research on China. In 1997, he decided to go to China to learn Chinese, and in 2003 he joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study international relations. He began his acting career in 2000 and in 2001 participated in the series "走向共和" playing General Nomura. Since then, he has become one of the most prominent foreign actors in Chinese productions, earning the nickname "鬼子專業戶" for his recurring roles as Japanese characters in Chinese film and television.
