Liu Yajin

Biography

Liu Yajin was born in 1959 in Tianjin, China. In 1978, he joined the Tianjin Folk Arts Troupe to study xiangsheng (comic dialogue) under the tutelage of Ma Zhicun, and after four years he went on to study Jingyun drum singing. In 1995, he was transferred to the Air Force Political Department Song and Dance Troupe of the People's Liberation Army. Liu Yajin is recognized as a prominent sketch comedy actor, film actor, and television actor in China. He married his wife Zhang Guofeng in 1986, who is a Jingyun drum singer at the Tianjin Folk Arts Troupe. The couple had their daughter Liu Chang in June 1988. In 1990, the whole family relocated to the capital, Beijing.
