黎鏗
简介
Henry Lai was a Chinese film actor born in Shanghai in 1928, the eldest son of Lai Man-wai, a pioneer of Hong Kong cinema. Raised under his father's influence, he developed a love for film and performing arts from an early age. He began his acting career at three and a half years old, appearing in the film "人道" as a lovable child. He later appeared in notable films including "城市之夜," "人生," "歸來," and "香雪海" alongside star Ruan Lingyu, playing the heroine's son and earning widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike, who dubbed him "the little angel on screen" and "the prodigy of cinema." Beyond acting, he participated in charitable activities and radio broadcasts to promote resistance against Japan in 1937. After the war broke out, he moved with his parents to Hong Kong, where he starred in the first Hong Kong film led by a child actor, "小英雄," in 1940. He endured a life of displacement during the war years across Zhanjiang and Guilin, continuing to assist his father in film work and stage drama. After the war, he enrolled at Lingnan University in Guangzhou and graduated in 1949, then moved to Beijing to work as an actor at the Beijing Film Studio, appearing in films such as "民主青年進行曲" and "一貫害人道." He devoted significant time to recitation art, training students and theater troupes in recitation techniques. In late 1958, he was transferred to Zhujiang Film Studio in Guangzhou as an actor and assistant director, helping director Wang Weiyi produce the classic Cantonese film "七十二家房客." Lai suffered from political, emotional, and professional turmoil after returning to mainland China, and died by suicide in Donghu Park, Guangzhou, on February 9, 1965, at the age of 37. In 2015, his brother Lai Xi, his friend Fai Ming-yi, and several film researchers published a book titled "著名童星、朗誦藝術家黎鏗" in his memory.
