Biography

Wang Yan was born on February 11, 1974, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. She is known by the English name Rebecca. She graduated from the affiliated middle school of the Beijing Dance Academy, where she majored in classical dance, as part of the class of 1984. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Qing'er in the TV series "My Fair Princess Part II" (还珠格格第二部), which made her a household name among audiences. She currently resides in Beijing. She is married to Wang Zhicai, a wealthy Australian-Chinese real estate tycoon. The couple has one son together. Wang Yan is considered one of the prominent Chinese actresses who achieved broad fame through her television work in the late 1990s.
