🏆 中国电影百年百位优秀演员(1905–2004)简介
Ge You is a famous Chinese actor born in Hebei province. He was born into a film family, with his father being a well-known actor and his mother working as a literary editor at the Beijing Film Studio. Initially uninterested in acting, after high school he worked in the rural outskirts of Beijing feeding pigs. He applied to several art institutes and theater troupes but was rejected until he joined the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Art Troupe through a sketch called "Feeding Pigs." He entered cinema in 1985 with the film "Summer and Her Fiancé," but his breakthrough came in 1988 with "The Troubleshooters," which established his distinctive acting style. In 1992 he gained widespread recognition for portraying Li Dongbao in the TV series "Stories of an Editorial Board," winning the Golden Eagle Award for Best Actor. In 1993 he played Fugui in Zhang Yimou's film "To Live," and in 1994 won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first Chinese actor to achieve this honor. He collaborated closely with director Feng Xiaogang on a series of popular comedic films that helped establish the Chinese New Year film genre, including "The Dream Factory," "Be There or Be Square," "Big Shot's Funeral," "Cell Phone," and "A World Without Thieves." He won three awards for his roles in these comedies and portrayed a different type of character in the 2010 film "Sacrifice," winning the Huabiao Award for Outstanding Actor.
