简介

Chi Zhiqiang is a Chinese actor and singer, born on October 16, 1958, in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. He began his artistic career at the age of sixteen when he appeared in his first film *Chuangye* (创业), and went on to star in numerous films including *Xiao Zibei* (小字辈), *Xi Zhao Jie* (夕照街), *Yue Dao Zhongqiu* (月到中秋), and *Gu Ci Shi Bi* (顾此失彼). In 1979, he was named one of the Second "National Outstanding Young Actors." By the early 1980s, he had become a widely known star across mainland China. However, his career was severely disrupted when he was arrested in October 1983 while filming *Jin Bu Huan* (金不換) in Hebei Province, charged with "hooliganism" after being reported for alleged illicit relationships and dancing in controversial social gatherings. He was sentenced to four years in prison but was released early in October 1985 after his sentence was reduced by two years. After his release, he returned to public prominence through a series of prison songs that became widely popular, most notably *Tie Chuang Lei* (铁窗泪) and *Chou Ya Chou* (愁呀愁), although it was later revealed that his voice was only used for the spoken parts in those songs while the actual singer was another person named Di Huimin. He released several music albums including *Zhong Yu Yue* (狱中望月), *Chou A Chou* (愁啊愁), *Yong Bao Ming Tian* (拥抱明天), *Hui Hen De Lei* (悔恨的泪), and *Tie Chuang Lei* (铁窗泪).
