Jennifer Shum Hang-yin

Biography

Jennifer Shum Hang-yin is a Hong Kong actress, program host, and psychological counselor, born on October 9, 1988. She is the only child of her family and moved to the UK with her family at age ten, where she studied at Westminster School and completed a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brunel University London. During her studies, she suffered from hyperthyroidism due to academic pressure but recovered. She returned to Hong Kong in 2012 and participated in the 2012 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, winning "Miss Photogenic," "Best First Performance Award," and "Fashion Vision Award," becoming a TVB contracted artist. She has mainly worked as a program host, and her most notable role is as "Icy," secretary to Long Gan Wei, in the sitcom "Come Home Love: Lo and Behold." She obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014 and began working part-time as a psychological counselor. In 2017, her hyperthyroidism relapsed due to the pressures of the entertainment industry, but she managed to control it with treatment. In late 2021, she left TVB to care for her son and study child psychology and parenting. In 2026, she became the executive committee chairperson of Wai Yin Yi Hui.
