May Lo Mei Mei

Biography

Lo Mei Wai is a Hong Kong actress born in 1965 in Hong Kong. She was discovered by producer Wong Pak Ming in the 1980s and began her acting career with a role in the film "Happy Ghost III". She joined the "Happy Girls" group alongside several actresses. She was regarded as one of Hong Kong's most promising actresses alongside Zhang Man Yu, Liu Jia Ling, and Zhong Chu Hong. She met singer Jacky Cheung while filming the movie "Devoted Heart" in 1985, and they began a romantic relationship. They married in 1996 in London. Lo Mei Wai gradually stepped back from acting in the 1990s to focus on supporting her husband's career, working behind the scenes in stage direction and costume design. She has two daughters, born in 2000 and 2005. In 1999, her husband named an asteroid "MAY" after her English name.
