Cha Xiao Xin (Eileen Cha), originally named Li Xiao Ming, is a Hong Kong entertainment journalist and programme host. She was born on 4 August 1958 and studied at Maryknoll Convent School (primary) and then Munsang College, before travelling to Canada to complete her secondary education at Nepean High School in Ottawa. She returned to Hong Kong to study English at Hong Kong Baptist College, graduating in 1980. She began her career as an entertainment reporter for Ming Pao newspaper and later became an editor. She worked at several tabloid magazines and founded Title Weekly. She hosted a radio programme on Commercial Radio titled 茶煲裡的查篤撐, and later continued hosting 巴巴閉邊個夠我查篤撐 for over a decade until 2012. She is known alongside media personality Lo Mik Suet as the "mother of paparazzi" in Hong Kong, having introduced paparazzi culture to Chinese society. Her style of digging into celebrities' privacy sparked widespread controversy, though she believes public figures must be subject to public scrutiny. In 2012, she hosted the TV programme 爆足一周 on TVB, but it was cancelled after only four episodes due to negative reception.
