Sherming Yiu Lok Yee

Biography

Sherming Yiu Lok Yee is a Hong Kong actress and television presenter, born on 23 September 1973 under the original name 姚雅麗. She received her education at 新法書院 (太子分校) from kindergarten through secondary school. She began her career as a model and karaoke singer, then appeared in the films "女子監獄1993" and "尖東老泥妹之四大天后". She joined TVB and was grouped with 梁雪湄, 任港秀 and others to form the girl group "電波少女". She gained attention in 1998 through her bold performance in "超級整蠱霸王", which led to a dramatic rise in her popularity and income (over tenfold), though she still carried debts from a failed beauty salon venture. In 2000, she starred in "街女" alongside actor 狄龍 in a father-daughter role, and personally wrote and sang the theme song "忘我". In 2001, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 6th Hong Kong Film Awards (金紫荊) for "跑馬地的月光". In 2008, feeling her roles had become limited, she left TVB after ten years and transitioned into artist management, serving as PR director at 香港星娛樂 and 老友記電影創作室. In 2012, she married non-celebrity 吳俊匡 (Alan), and gave birth to a daughter in December 2015.
