Pauline Yam is a Hong Kong actress, former model, and politician, born on October 15, 1973. She attended St. Paul's School and later studied in the United States, graduating from Harvard University with a degree in computer science, which earned her the nickname "Sweet Little Harvard." She participated in the 1997 Miss Hong Kong Pageant and reached the top five but did not place in the top three. After the pageant, she worked at an accounting firm before transitioning to acting, appearing in several films and television series. In 2000, she appeared in the RTHK drama "Women Are Busy" as a dentist. In 2005, she co-hosted the program "Dissecting the Human Body" on Cable TV. In 2008, she retired from the entertainment industry and ventured into business, managing golf and sake businesses. In 2015, she entered politics and won a district council election, becoming the first former pageant contestant to become a district councillor. She lost the 2019 election in the Aberdeen constituency.
