简介

Ssie Ssie, originally named Lei Qiu Si, is a female martial arts actress from the Shaw Brothers film company in Hong Kong. She was born on October 24, 1953, in Taoyuan, Taiwan. From childhood, she learned folk dance, ballet, and various ethnic dances, excelled in them, and won numerous awards in school competitions. In 1969, at the age of fifteen, she was accepted into the Shaw Brothers film company in Hong Kong and signed a contract to develop her career there. The company placed high hopes on her, wishing to cultivate her as a successor to the actress Cheng Pei Pei. Therefore, during her ten years with Shaw Brothers, almost all her works were martial arts films. Thanks to her early dance training, her movements in martial arts films were natural, graceful, and full of the aura of a female warrior, and she was one of the top actresses of that era. After her contract with Shaw Brothers ended in 1979, she chose to work freely and returned to Taiwan to film movies. With the decline of martial arts films in 1983, she began participating in Taiwanese television series. In 1985, she starred in the television series "Flying Dragon, Startling Phoenix" which was a great success, and her performance in male disguise was particularly praised. She also participated in other series such as "Enchanting Love" and "Pearl Legend." In 1987, she played the role of "Ssie Ssie Furo" in the comedy show "Golden Partners." In 1988, she retired from acting after filming two television series commemorating the late President Chiang Ching-kuo. After retiring, she traveled between Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China and gave lectures on Buddhism as a Buddhist laywoman.
