Biography

Helen Poon Bing Sheung is a Hong Kong actress born in 1952, raised in the Wong Tai Sin and Kowloon City areas. She descends from a prominent Guangzhou family, and her mother was a Cantonese opera actress. She graduated from the 1970 RTV training course. She began her career in the 1970s with RTV, ATV, and TVB. She made her film debut in "春滿丹麥" in 1973 and starred in "亡命浪子" alongside film star Alan Tang. She joined Shaw Brothers in 1977 and became one of its prominent actresses. She wrote newspaper columns and hosted radio and television programs. She retired from acting in the early 2000s due to industry rumors and is now active in charity work. She married Tan Yik Hung in 1999 and has a son. She was a close friend of the late singer Teresa Teng.
