Nancy Kan Wing Han
Biography
Nancy Kan Wing Han, known as Nancy Kan, is a Hong Kong presenter and actress. Born on July 25, 1970, she attended Canossa Sacred Heart School from kindergarten through secondary school. She graduated in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in English from City University of Hong Kong. In her first year of university, she participated in Hong Kong Commercial Radio's DJ recruitment and worked at CR2 903 as a presenter, with her first program being "Old People's Home" alongside Soft Hard. The duo gave her the stage name Nancy Kan, and she became known for the radio drama "Mrs. Nancy Theater." In 1999, she joined TVB's "Super Trio Series" game show in its fourth installment, where her iconic scene of biting a watermelon with her teeth left a lasting impression on audiences. Kan's film roles were mostly comedic supporting parts as exaggerated "ugly" characters due to her appearance, particularly her teeth. She appeared in Stephen Chow's "Lawyer Lawyer" as the friend of Karen Mok's character. She stepped away from the spotlight in 2006 after hosting "Game King," earning a master's degree in anthropology from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008, and later studying a master's in counseling at the University of Hong Kong. She worked seven years at an antique shop due to her love of history and museums. She made a guest appearance in 2022 on ViuTV's "940920" and was invited by Eric Tsang to take an administrative role at TVB. In September 2022, she substituted as host for episode six of "Super Trio Returns" when Eric Tsang contracted COVID-19. In 2023, she returned to Hong Kong Commercial Radio hosting "Nancy's Choice of Happiness" every Sunday evening. Kan has studied calligraphy and painting as a hobby, exhibiting in China, Hong Kong, and Macau, and currently serves as an executive committee member of the Hong Kong Calligraphy and Painting Society and the Hong Kong Women's Culture and Arts Association. In November 2021, she held her first solo painting exhibition "Non-Attachment" at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
