Louisa Mak Ming-sze was born in Australia in 1991 to a middle-class family and moved to Hong Kong at age three. She attended Diocesan Girls' School and excelled academically, becoming one of the top scorers in the Hong Kong Secondary School Examination. She earned a law degree from the University of Cambridge and passed the New York State Bar exam. She won the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 2015, launching her entertainment career. She appeared in films and TV series such as "The Day," "Line Walker 2," "Oh My Grad," and "OMG, Your Honour," and hosted the talk show "Young And Restless." She stepped away from entertainment in 2019, worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, then co-founded "Project Melo" in 2022. She was appointed director of an education group in 2023, married in 2024, and had a child in 2025.
