简介

Lu Michelle (original name Lu Lianlian) is a veteran Hong Kong media personality, presenter and actress, known by her English name "Michelle". Born on 28 May 1964, she grew up in Shek Tong Tsui in western Hong Kong and traces her ancestry to Maoming City in Guangdong Province. She has five siblings and is the youngest, and graduated from Kam Man Tai Secondary School. She began her career as an entertainment journalist and editor in Hong Kong, then gradually moved into radio and television presenting and acting. She served as deputy editor-in-chief of East Weekly and hosted the popular radio programme "On a Clear Day" on Hong Kong Commercial Radio, also serving as programme development manager. In 2008 she moved to Radio Television Hong Kong to host "Happy Daily". She was among the first to introduce in-depth investigative journalism and celebrity pursuit tactics to Hong Kong, but later in the late 1990s she criticised this style, arguing it limits readers' deeper thinking on social issues. She has hosted a wide variety of programmes across multiple radio and television stations, covering cooking, talk shows, game shows and interviews, notably "Hong Kong People Talk" on Phoenix TV and numerous food programmes on TVB Food channel. She also appeared in films such as "La Lingerie" and "Happy Feet" in comedic roles. She has also worked as manager and spokesperson for celebrities including actress Isabella Leong. In 2018 she launched her own biscuit brand "Michelle Pastry". She maintains close friendships with fellow media personalities Xiao Hui Zhang and Cally Kwong. She is unmarried and enjoys shopping, food, cinema, yoga, English language and music, and prefers to avoid political discussions.
