简介

Rowena Lam was born in Hong Kong in 1958. After finishing primary school, she emigrated with her parents to Britain, where she completed her secondary education. In 1976, at the age of eighteen, she returned to Hong Kong and entered the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, winning the title despite her youth. Her spontaneous and joyful reaction upon being crowned delighted the audience and drew no criticism. After her victory, she represented Hong Kong at the Miss Universe pageant held in Hong Kong and placed among the top twelve contestants. She then signed a one-year artiste contract with TVB and appeared in several television dramas, most notably Sweet Girl, which was tailor-made for her and received critical acclaim. Despite her promising acting career, she unexpectedly returned to Britain to work in a computer company, far from the entertainment world. In 1984, she was invited back to Hong Kong by the film company Cinema City and starred in her first feature film, Lover's Romance, followed by Good Fortune from Golden Harvest. After these two films, she traveled to Africa and then settled in Britain again, largely withdrawing from the entertainment industry.
