郭秀云

Guo Xiuyun is a Chinese actress born in Hong Kong on December 28, 1969. She is of Chinese and German-American descent, and her father was one of the founders of Ocean Park, which led her to spend her childhood swimming with dolphins and develop a love for nature and animals. She moved to the United States at age ten for Western education. She studied art at the San Francisco Art University and taught there as well. Encouraged by her mother, she participated in a local Chinese beauty pageant and won, then returned to Hong Kong to compete in the Miss Chinese International Pageant, where she placed third in 1988, launching her entertainment career. She acted in numerous films and TV series and appeared as a Playboy cover girl. Despite her artistic success, she shifted her focus to marine conservation and animal welfare. She became an ambassador for several animal protection and ocean conservation organizations and participated in producing environmental awareness TV programs such as "Treasure Hunt in the Forest and Sea" with TVB in 2010. She married martial arts actor Qian Xiaohao in 1990 and had a son, and later married Pang Jie, son of the "Steel King" Pang Dingyuan.
