Lily Chung
Biography
Chung Shu Hui was born in 1969 in Brunei and grew up in the Kwai Chung area of Hong Kong. She graduated from Shi Yin Missionary School in 1982, where she was a member of the school basketball team. She then attended Tsuen Wan Jing Yi Girls' School. In 1987, she participated in the Miss Universe pageant and won the Hong Kong regional title and the Miss Best Mood award. She was the only Hong Kong representative to compete in Miss Universe without being that year's Miss Hong Kong, as TVB postponed the pageant and organized a separate selection for the Miss Universe representative. She placed 21st in the swimsuit segment of the Miss Universe competition. After that, she signed with TVB, hosting programmes and acting in dramas, but her career did not flourish. In the mid-1990s, she appeared in several Category III films and worked with her future husband Wu Tai Yung in intimate scenes, before the two married in 1995. After marriage, she retreated from the entertainment industry and settled in Singapore, occasionally participating in some dramas and advertisements.
