Chan Fung Bing

Biography

Chan Fung Bing was a Chinese actress from Hong Kong who worked in film and television as a character actor (甘草演員). In addition to acting, she served as a matron of honor (大妗姐) at the weddings of several celebrities, including Lui Leung-wai and Kwan Mei-wan, Yang Qian-hua and Ding Zi-gao, and Yang Wan-yi. From the 1980s onward, she worked extensively as a guest actress at Hong Kong's two major free-to-air television stations. She primarily played elderly supporting roles such as matchmakers, witches, old servants, village women, midwives, and matrons of honor. She appeared in dozens of television series and films throughout her career. She passed away on 28 January 2012 at Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong.
