Chan Lai Man, also known as Queenie Chan, is a Hong Kong artist, TV host, and social media influencer, born on February 2, 1972. Raised in a single-parent family with a Taiwanese father and Shanghainese mother, she studied at Xin Xin Girls' Private High School in New Taipei City and later at Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College. She then obtained an associate degree in international business management from the School of Continuing Education at City University of Hong Kong. She participated in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant in 1995 but was not selected, and began working as a flight attendant for an American airline until early 2022, during which time she earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London. She worked as a host on TVB8, a channel of TVB, and contributed beauty columns to Ming Pao and various magazines. She began her artistic career in 2000 by publishing her first photography book 作者詳介, and later released several books on beauty, healthy cooking, and fashion. In 2006 she launched a Yahoo blog that received over 90 million visits and held an original oil painting exhibition. Since 2007 she has been a YouTuber through the channel beautyQQ, where her most popular videos have garnered over 60 million views. She served as a mentor on TVB reality shows such as 盛女愛作戰, 求愛大作戰, and 沒女大翻身, which addressed the issue of singlehood in Hong Kong. In 2012 she founded her own production company QCB Productions, and in 2014 launched her patented makeup brush brand SO By Queenie Chan. She also studied traditional Chinese painting under Tah Shing Cheuk, a disciple of Lingnan School master Chao Shao-An.
