芙蓉麗

简介

Fu Yung Lai (芙蓉麗) is a Hong Kong film actress and Cantonese opera performer, known by the title "Excellent Actress". She is the only child in her family and is well known for her love of helping others, often saying "Helping others is the basis of happiness". She always accepted invitations for shop openings, radio singing, and stage guest appearances, never failing to respond to others' requests, which made her very popular in Cantonese opera circles. Her film debut was in "醉打金枝" in 1955, and her final film was "金鳳斬蛟龍" in 1961, in which she played the role of "金三鳳". She took on diverse roles, usually as a supporting actress, and appeared in approximately 10 films. In 1956, she led the "金龍劇團" troupe with actors 許君漢 and 潘有聲 to perform Cantonese opera in Singapore and Malaya for two years, returning to Hong Kong on the ship "芝萬宜號" of the "渣華輪船公司" on July 22, 1958. In 1961, she traveled with violinist 尹自重 to New Zealand for stage performances, after which she married and settled in San Francisco, United States. In America, she performed only one or two Cantonese opera shows each year during the New Year, collaborating with performers such as 鄧碧雲, 南紅, and 秦小梨, while spending the rest of her time working in a department store and teaching overseas Chinese Cantonese opera in the evenings. She also released a record titled "入候門深似海" in 1961 with several other artists.
