Yang Xiufeng

Biography

Yang Xiufeng was a Cantonese opera and Chinese film actress, born in 1907. She began her film career with her debut "The Madness of a Young Wife" in 1937 and continued acting until 1969, appearing in her final work "Windfall Fortune." Over her lifetime, she performed in approximately 80 films. She had a disciple named Qian Yingnong, a Cantonese opera actress in Singapore. She married Zhang Sheng, who was also a film actor and broadcaster at RTV, and they had one son and two daughters. In the 1960s, she was diagnosed with chronic cancer and spent years in hospital treatment without success, passing away on August 15, 1969 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kowloon at the age of 62.
