李明珠 (演員)
简介
Lee Ming Chu (1937), originally named Li Ying Fang (Yan Fang), was a Hong Kong Mandarin and Cantonese film actress known as an "artistic star" who enjoyed sports such as motorcycling, horse riding, badminton, tennis, and swimming. Her screen debut was in the film "The Bitter Girl Jiang Haiyan" in 1959, where she played the role of Li Huiling. In 1959, she accepted an invitation from the Thai film company "Southwest Film Company" and traveled to Thailand on July 1, 1959, via an Indian Airlines flight to co-star with Thai actor Sorasit and actress Amara in the Thai film "Deeply Bonded Sisters." On December 12, 1959, she was found unconscious at her residence in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, after an overdose of sleeping pills, discovered by her maid Huang Lian and taken to Yan Wu Hospital before being transferred to Mary Hospital for stomach pumping. As a result, she was unable to accompany the Mandarin film "The Cloud-Robed Empress" on its Thailand stage tour in December 1959. Lee Ming Chu returned to Hong Kong from Singapore in June 1960.
