Yu Huifen

Biography

Yu Huifen, also known as Yu Huifen and originally named Yu Qunying, is a Hong Kong film and Cantonese opera actress. She received her stage name when the famous actress Fang Yanfen took her as an apprentice while filming on set. She began her career in the "Xin Yanyang" troupe as a third female lead. In 1959, she joined the "Xian Fengming" troupe. In 1969, she emigrated to the United States. In 1971, she married Cantonese opera actor Li Qifeng, and together they ran a garment factory in New York City. She gave birth to a daughter in 1978 in the United States, named Li Peiyan, who later also became a Cantonese opera actress.
