简介

Hui Ying Ying was a Chinese actress from Hong Kong, born around 1928. She began her artistic career in the 1940s during the war resistance period, performing in Cantonese dialect theatre in Guangzhou, and graduated from the Provincial Women's Teachers Training School. In 1949 she moved to Hong Kong and participated in theatrical, film, radio, and voice acting work. She also performed television productions in Singapore. In 1965, her eldest daughter Bai Xiao Yan held a traditional ceremony acknowledging Ma Xiao Ying as a godmother. She moved with her husband to Singapore in the early 1970s for business, but they divorced in 1975, and she returned to Hong Kong with her second daughter in 1977 to develop her artistic career. She appeared in approximately 264 films over a span of 41 years, with her debut being "锦繡前程" in 1952 and her final film being "花田囍事" in 1993. She returned to Singapore in 1989 and continued producing television series until her death on April 23, 1993. Her last work was the series "富貴也瘋狂" produced for Singaporean television. Her character with thick-rimmed glasses in the 1965 film "恩義難忘" served as inspiration for other actresses in later films.
