梁少芯
简介
Leung Siu-sum is a Hong Kong Cantonese opera actress, known as "芯姐". Her family is deeply rooted in Cantonese opera; her father Leung Kwan-hin was a stage set designer, and her elder brother Leung Hon-wai and husband Man Chin-sui are renowned opera performers. She formed a small troupe called "初之人" with her siblings in her youth, with her brother Leung Hon-wai achieving the greatest success in the field, followed by her. She studied under prominent teachers such as Yam Dai-fun, Hui Kwan-hon, and Kai Choi-fan, and also trained with Tang Siu-lan-fong, Chun Chun-hung, and Tam Shan-shan. She learned Beijing opera techniques from Chan Wing-ling, one of the "Four Famous Young Dan" performers. Her first major troupe performance was at Tung Lok Theatre in "雷鳴金鼓戰笳聲" alongside Lam Kar-sung and Chan Ho-kau. In the late 1960s at age 19, she was invited to tour the United States as a second-tier dan actress, staying there for several years. After returning to Hong Kong, she toured Vietnam in 1976 with Leung Hon-wai, Yuen Siu-fai, and Ko Lai. In the 1980s, she ran a fashion business while continuing opera performances. She married fellow opera actor Man Chin-sui, and together they formed the "千歲粵劇團". In 2001, they established the "千歲粵劇研究院" to train young performers. In the mid-2000s, the couple became devout Christians, and in 2008 Man Chin-sui composed the Cantonese gospel song "救世主耶穌", which the couple performed together. In 2010, they created and performed the production "挪亞方舟", pioneering gospel Cantonese opera. In 2011, she relocated to Los Angeles and began evangelizing worldwide. Her niece Mei-ling Tang (daughter of Leung Siu-tong) is also a Cantonese opera dan actress.
