She enrolled in the Central Motion Picture Corporation's actor training program in 1961 and participated as a guest actor in several films after graduation. In Hong Kong, she caught the attention of director Chang Cheh and starred alongside Wang Yu in "The One-Armed Swordsman," which achieved major commercial success, grossing over one million Hong Kong dollars in Hong Kong alone, becoming the first Chinese-language film to reach that milestone. She continued her success in films such as "The Assassin," "Black Rose," and "Return of the One-Armed Swordsman." In 1972, she left Shaw Brothers and became a free agent. After her husband died in a car accident in 1976, she retired from acting and worked as a voice dubber to support her children. Later, she married actor Tsang Kong, their relationship beginning unexpectedly after an emotional incident while riding his motorcycle.
