Wang Manling

Biography

Wang Manling (1940-), originally named Wang Suyan, is a Chinese Pingju opera actress. She is considered one of the prominent artists of this traditional theatrical art form in China. She served as a council member of the Chinese Dramatists Association. She also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Workers. Born in Beipiao, Liaoning Province, her ancestral hometown is Renqiu in Hebei Province. She dedicated her artistic career to the development and promotion of traditional Pingju opera.
