简介

Wei Ji'an is a Chinese stage actor, playwright, and artistic supervisor, born on January 2, 1956, in Longkou City, Shandong Province. He was admitted to the Xinjiang Military Region Drama Troupe in 1974 and initially faced difficulties abandoning his local dialect in favor of standard Mandarin. He began his career with supporting roles and one-act plays, later landing his first leading role in the play "Garland Under the High Mountain." He became known for his performance in "On the Horizon, There Is a Sacred Flame," a play about the life of border soldiers, for which he won the Plum Blossom Award, the Magnolia Award, and other national theatre awards. In 1991, he began performing skits on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, with notable works including "Local Accent," "Shoe Shining," "Male Relative," and "Flowers Blooming in the Dark," where his local dialect contributed to his widespread popularity. In the 1990s, he also appeared in several television series, including "The Business World," "Stories of the Cooking Squad," "So Charming," and "Don't Take Bean Buns for Granted." He is a member of the Chinese Dramatists Association, a National First-Class Actor, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the Communist Party of China, and the artistic supervisor of the Drama Troupe of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army.
