三船敏郎

Toshiro Mifune was born on April 1, 1920, in Qingdao, China, during the Japanese lease period, and was the eldest son of his family. At age four, he moved with his family to Dalian, where his father ran a photography studio, and he spent his entire adolescence there, learning photography in his father's studio. He became a renowned Japanese film actor and twice won the Best Actor award at the Venice International Film Festival. Together with director Akira Kurosawa and actor Takashi Shimura, he formed a famous trio in Japanese cinema. He also appeared in Western productions from the United States, France, and Mexico. He was among the few Japanese stars to receive exceptional treatment, founding his own production company with a large film studio in Tokyo. In 2016, he was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to world cinema.
