Lou Lihong

Biography

Lou Lihong is a Chinese folk singer from the Su and Anhui region. She was born in 1934 into a poor family in Jinji Town, Tianchang City, Anhui Province. She grew up in Caoxi Village in Jinji Town. Lou Lihong is considered the first performer to bring the famous folk song "Jasmine Flower" (茉莉花) to the stage. She performed this folk song in the 1950s, contributing to its popularity and legacy. Lou Lihong is regarded as a pioneer of folk songs in the Su and Anhui region.
