劉問霞

Liu Wenxia was a Chinese artist of Dongbei Da Gu (Northeast China Grand Drum), born in 1895 in Tianjin. She studied under teacher Liu Lianjia at a young age to learn the art of Dongbei Da Gu. She was known for performing lyrical passages, with her renditions of excerpts from Dream of the Red Chamber being particularly prominent. She was honored with the title "Fengtian Drum King," reflecting her esteemed status in this art form. She had great influence in Northeast China and the interior regions. In the 1930s, she recorded phonograph records that helped spread her art more widely. She passed away in 1944.
