马增寿

简介

Ma Zengshou was a Chinese Peking Opera performer specializing in clown roles, born on August 15, 1940, in Beiping. He graduated in 1960 from the Beijing Opera School and studied under masters such as Ye Shengzhang, Ci Shaoquan, Li Siguang, Zhang Chunhua, and Guo Yuanxiang. He worked successively with the Xun Huisheng Peking Opera Troupe, the Experimental Peking Opera Troupe, and the Beijing Peking Opera Theatre. He was regarded as one of the foremost performers of clown roles in Peking Opera and was awarded the title of National First-Class Performer in China. His notable stage works include 杜鹃山 and 法门寺. Ma Zengshou passed away on January 31, 2017.
