Wu Yafan

Biography

Wu Yafan is a Chinese actor from Hebei province, born on March 6, 2007, in Qiu County, Handan City. As an active child, at the age of ten in 2017 he enrolled in the Songshan Shaolin Martial Arts School in Dengfeng City to study martial arts. His opportunity came when the casting crew of the film "Creation of the Gods" trilogy visited the school to find an actor for the role of the mythological character Nezha. Thanks to his martial arts and roller-skating skills, along with his feisty temperament, Yafan successfully passed the interview, entered the film's acting training camp, and ultimately defeated two other competitors to officially secure the role of Nezha. The three films of the trilogy were shot consecutively in one go, which conveniently avoided any plot inconsistency caused by Yafan's growth and changing appearance during filming. In July 2023, the first installment "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms" was released, marking his official acting debut and bringing him rapid fame. In September 2023, he participated in the 2023 Beijing Cultural Forum art evening and performed the song "Most Beautiful Chinese Style." In January 2025, he took part in the 2025 Beijing TV Spring Festival Gala and performed the song "Only Mortal Life Envied, Not Immortal."
