R.O.O.T

简介

R.O.O.T is a Hong Kong-based band, with the name being an abbreviation for "Running Out of Time," blending jazz, rock, and pop musical elements to create a unique style. The band was initiated by Jan Curious, lead vocalist of Chochukmo, alongside jazz guitarist Teriver Cheung, who frequently tours worldwide. The lineup also includes young bassist and keyboardist Sotoc, who has composed, arranged, and produced for many pop singers, and drummer Fish Huang, formerly of Taiwanese band 831 and now active in the jazz scene. In 2016, the band was invited to perform at "Freespace Happening" and has since been active in various regional performances, including "Ear Expo 2019" and the "Share Your Love" anniversary concert in Taipei. They have released four original English songs, and in 2019 participated in "LMFXXYEARFEST," premiering an adapted version of LMF's "Para Salud" with MC Ren. Starting in 2020, the band began creating Cantonese songs, including "人間有愛," which topped the "叱咤 903 專業推介" chart, and "非洲的60秒," which reached third place on two major charts in 2021. R.O.O.T also won the "叱咤樂壇生力軍銀獎" at the 2020 awards ceremony.
