新青年理髮廳
简介
New Youth Barbershop is a male group from Hong Kong, founded in 2013 under the Chinese record label Modern Sky. The founding members are Au Yang (Ou Yang), Fat Jai, and Showroom. The group's name comes from an old Shanghainese-style barbershop located on Po Chi Lai Street in the Hung Hom area of Hong Kong, named "New Youth Barbershop," with the members hoping their creative output would remain perpetually fresh like the name. Fat Jai and Au Yang were dormitory roommates at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where Fat Jai was a social work student and Au Yang was an engineering student; they began writing lyrics and composing music together after meeting and finding they shared similar ideals. Showroom met Au Yang through Fat Jai. Each member has a specific role: Au Yang handles music, Fat Jai handles lyrics, and Showroom handles visual effects. In 2020, the member who had publicly expressed anti-extradition bill views left the group, leaving only lead singer Ou Yang, who signed with White Cat Laundry, a subsidiary of the Chinese music label Modern Sky.
